We are going home tomorrow for hospice home care. After 7 months of painful, but hopeful times, we now see the light at the end of the tunnel. It seems surreal to us.We have had a wonderful life with experiences that many people just dream about. We are now planning our remaining time together, which will be short.
Dear Barb...my heart is heavy with sadness. One thing I do know through this long summer, you have been greatly loved! We enjoyed the ups and downs of raising our kids together and solved all the world's problems on our walks these last 30 years...I just wish they could continue. But you have fought a good fight with grace. I love you...Faye
ReplyDeleteDear Barb, Darrell and family - You are a shining example of love and friendship and we want you to know that our hearts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We love you, Tom and Mary Bierbrauer
ReplyDeleteDear Barb and Darrell, In these past challenging days, it seems your love has deepened and is seared on everyone's hearts - as a love and partnership that all should aspire to. As you said your life together has had some amazing times, but the best through my eyes is how you both built a family that Dave and Jeannie were drawn to and wanted to part of - in all ways, but especially summers and then as adults. You both arranged your lives to make it so. When you were not all together Barb longed for that - and because of who you are it came to be and has blessed all of you, in fun times and trying times - to be together. The foundation that has been laid will continue to serve you and your family well,(perhaps for generations) and I know Barb wants that to continue and even grow and that it will help bring peace to all of you in the coming moments. Our thoughts and prayers continue to stay close to you. Love, Julie and Joel
ReplyDeleteBarb and Darrell, You have both fought cancer with great courage and fortitude. You have both lived your lives focused on love, compassion and family. I cannot think of a better family or better people. We are heart broken for you, your family and all of us lucky enough to know you. You will remain in our hearts and minds and prayers. We are blessed by you as you will be by God. Love Forever, Cindy and Chuck
ReplyDeleteBarb and Darrell, 41 yrs. of being blessed having you in our lives. Barb made it possible for me to make the adjustment moving to the midwest 41 yrs. ago. The four of us had many crazy fun fun times which I won't mention!! My heart is so heavy and the tears keep coming but you gave it your best and showed us all how we too can fight and be optimistic. I love you as a sister and always will.......

Barb, you are an amazing woman in so many ways. You have raised beautiful children who have in turn started to raise lovely children. You are a terrific wife to Darrell. A remarkable business woman and a good friend to many. The strength and love that you and Darrell have is one of a kind. I cannot express that sadness I feel for you and your family. You have fought a good fight. May God Bless you and your family and hold you tight. Love, Leah Swartzbaugh
ReplyDeleteDear Barb and Darrell~~And so~~you have chosen every possible step ~~ every step of the way. I wouldn't expect anything other than that from you both to make it to the next level of care. With heartfelt love to you, I too am crushed to know you have gone as far as you can go with your treatment. The sureal light at the end of the tunnel looks quite lovely in this picture. You truly are beacons of hope and love and beauty in this world. Bless you. Love, Pam
