One Year Ago

It was one year ago when I made this posting. I feel as sad today as I did then. There isn't much else that I can say ...
"Barb's 8 month battle with Leukemia is over. She passed away this morning. Her sister Pat and I were with her at the end by her side.

Her strength, attitude and strong-will to live helped her through long intensive Chemo treatments often offered only to younger people. She wanted so much to remain part of our grandchildren's lives as well as her family and friends that she was willing to do whatever she could do ... no matter how difficult.

While there were times when she felt cheated, the outpouring of support from so many friends and relatives worldwide helped her stay positive and hopeful. Also, as much as we both wanted our life together to continue - we felt fortunate to have had such a wonderful life.

This is the saddest day of my life. Barb was not just a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many - she was my best friend. It breaks my heart that she had to go through this experience.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!

LOVE, DARRELL"

  1. Dear Darrell ~~ I have thought of you and Barb and your family all day today. And, my daughter Hilary who is visiting also thought of Barb today and remembered reading this posting. I know you are as sad today as you were a year ago. Barb was a dearheart with lots of zing. She left quite a family legacy.
