The training for the race was challenging over the past 6 months, but the race went well. We all enjoyed participating and finishing in the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon as part of the Leukemia Society TEAM. It's a big event with over 3,000 athletes - including Olympic athletes from the USA, Europe and Australia. There were about 80 other TEAM members in the race.
While it wasn't the reason that we entered the race, our results were pretty good also. Jeanine finished first in her age group, and I finished second in my age group of old guys.
I can't thank you enough for donating to our TEAM!!! I've decided to continue on the TEAM as long as I can physically do it and/or there is a cure found for AML Leukemia - which is hopefully before Gwen is ready for her first Triathlon.
Love,
Darrell

Congratulations to you all. What an inspiring story. Thank you for all you have done. I see Barb's beautiful eyes in Jeanine and precious little Gwen. You have a wonderful family. Pam
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WILKS & RODDYS!!!! I'm really proud of you - what an accomplishment, both for the money you raised, that you all finished the race and some of you ended at the top of the heap. In addition, what a smashing photo of the 4 of you. Faye Burke
