While there were times when she felt cheated, the outpouring of support from so many friends and relatives worldwide helped her stay positive and hopeful. Also, as much as we both wanted our life together to continue - we felt fortunate to have had such a wonderful life. This is the saddest day of my life. Barb was not just a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many - she was my best friend. It breaks my heart that she had to go through this experience.
We will arrange a private cremation with just our immediate family this week. Within approximately 3 weeks, we will have a memorial service for Barb. We will let you know the details.
Please do not send flowers. Barb prefers that people donate to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, instead of sending flowers. Tomorrow, I will post donation information on the blog, if you are interested in donating in the way that she requested.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!
LOVE, DARRELL
Thank you Darrell, Jeanine, David and family for letting me say my final goodbye to my dearest friend.....she will be in my heart forever.

ReplyDeleteGod Only Takes The Best
God saw she was getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so God wrapped his arms around her
and whispered, "Come with me!"
With tear-filled eyes you watched
her slip away
Although you loved her deeply
you could not maker her stay
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
God only takes the BEST!
Hugs to all,
Kristin
