Update - August 13 - Day 52 + 47

After a very tough week last week, I've been feeling better. I'm over the 103/104 fevers that put me back into the hospital 2 weeks ago. However, I get a low grade fever once a day or so, and during the fevers -- it wears me out.
My test results have been okay. So, the doctors are a bit stumped. Although, for Leukemia patients - unexplained low grade temperatures are common. The fevers could actually be due to the antibiotics, bone marrow stimulant, etc that I'm taking.

Anyway, I'm on an additional new antibiotic, and until my fevers are completely gone, I have to hang in here.

  1. Hi Barb ~~ I hope Darrell gave you that big hug after we talked this afternoon. I know it's been rough, and I'm glad you are feeling a bit better ~~ but know you aren't yet at the perky point with the low grade fever. Here's to the additional new antibiotic to knock it out. Hoping you'll be able to be home again soon. Love, Pam

  3. Oh, it's a tough handling the high fevers. Hopefully, tons of chipped ice to drink helps!! Sounds like your system is really fighting the drugs. Do the best you can. Glad to learn your tests are looking good too. "Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light", -Helen Keller
Just to let you know you are not alone.....

  4. Thanks Barb for the update, we are always waiting to hear.Sorry it is not a little better on your part. As your friend Mary stated so beautifully - you are not alone - at least in spirit - wish there was more we could do to help - unfortunately the heavy lifting is all on you (and Darrell). You have carried heavy burdens before and always did so with grace and success,I am sure the success part is not far off.

By the way - is this Obama's fault?

    Love you, Julie

  6. Hi Barb, I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a hard 2 weeks. In the past, whenever I have had a hard road to follow , I found that if I thought about all the wonderful things in life God has given to me. The more I name them all, the better I feel and the more determined I get, to fight back!!! I am praying for you, as is my family. Our love is always with you! xoxox Dianne
