Temporary Set Back

At our out-patient clinic visit yesterday, (after being fine at home), Barb spiked a fever. The doctors weren't sure if it was due to an infection, or a reaction to her blood transfusion. So, they took a blood culture and sent us home. Last night, she had another fever. At the clinic today, they told us that the blood culture indicated that she had an infection that would be best treated with IV antibiotics versus pills.

So, we had to check back into the hospital -- which was certainly discouraging. However, we'll be back home as soon as the infection is cleared up.
